Türk Telekom responds to CHP's Yavuzyılmaz regarding 'profiteering' claims
Türk Telekom has issued a statement regarding claims made by CHP's Deniz Yavuzyılmaz that the company's services would be transferred to companies close to the AKP, stating, "The claims that services will be transferred to private companies do not reflect the truth."
Türk Telekom issued a statement regarding the claim by CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz that services provided to subscribers in 4 major cities would be transferred to two companies close to the AKP: "The claims brought up in some media outlets today regarding our company, stating that 'services at Türk Telekom will be transferred to private companies,' do not reflect the truth. Routine operational activities carried out with third-party business partners do not create any additional cost for our company. Therefore, the claims that Türk Telekom will incur losses or that it will increase prices for its customers by 100 percent for this reason are also baseless."
In his assessment, CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz had claimed that the services Türk Telekom provides to its subscribers in 4 major cities would be transferred to two companies close to the AKP, stating, "In the first 9 months of 2025, Türk Telekom's net profit is 21 billion liras. This profit is whetting the AKP's appetite, and they are looking for ways to transfer this resource to their own crony companies. They are transferring all the work that Türk Telekom does with its own technical staff to these two crony companies. This transfer plan is such a plan that it creates a massive loss," he had said.
The statement from Türk Telekom regarding the matter is as follows:
"The claims brought up in some media outlets today regarding our company, stating that 'services at Türk Telekom will be transferred to private companies,' do not reflect the truth. For this reason, a statement has become necessary to inform the public correctly. First of all, we would like to state that; it is a common and established business practice in all sectors, public or private, around the world to carry out certain operational processes with third-party business partners.
These practices are implemented to ensure that services are managed more quickly and effectively and to keep the customer experience at the highest level. This business model, which is applied across the sector, does not mean any transfer of services. Throughout its deep-rooted history of over 185 years, Türk Telekom has carried out some of its operational processes with competent business partners in their fields without any privilege being granted to any person or institution; today, it continues its work with expert business partners.
"THE CLAIMS THAT TÜRK TELEKOM WILL INCUR LOSSES ARE ALSO BASELESS"
In this context; routine operational activities carried out with third-party business partners do not create any additional cost for our company. Therefore, the claims that Türk Telekom will incur losses or that it will increase prices for its customers by 100 percent for this reason are also baseless. Our company, which bases its activities on public interest in accordance with legislation in all areas of operation, continues to provide the best service to its more than 56 million subscribers with its widespread infrastructure across the country, centering on a human-oriented approach. We present this to the information of the public."
