Turkey heads to the polls: Distribution of voter information slips has begun

The process for the local elections to be held on March 31 is continuing according to the Supreme Election Council's (YSK) calendar.

34 PARTIES WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE ELECTION

Following the notification to the YSK by the Innovation Party (Yenilik Partisi) and the Youth Party (Genç Parti) that they would not participate in the elections, the number of political parties was updated to 34. Political parties and independent candidates submitted their candidate lists to provincial and district election boards on February 20. Furthermore, the positions of political parties on the combined ballot paper were determined by a drawing of lots held at the YSK Presidency on January 27.

DISTRIBUTION OF VOTER INFORMATION SLIPS BEGAN TODAY

In the process leading up to the election, the printing and distribution of voter information slips, which determine where citizens will cast their votes, began today. Voters will only be able to cast their votes at the ballot boxes where they are registered. Furthermore, it is not mandatory for citizens going to vote to have their voter information slips with them on March 31.

Prior to the distribution of voter information slips, voters will be able to find out where they will vote. This information can be checked via the YSK website, the e-Government portal, the YSK voter inquiry mobile application, or the YSK Call Center at 444 9 975. However, in a warning issued by the YSK, it was emphasized that voter registration inquiries can only be made through the specified channels, and it was reminded that other emails, calls, or messages should not be trusted.
