Turkey's first quantum computer "QuanT" unveiled
With the presentation held today, Turkey's first quantum computer has officially become operational. Developed in collaboration between ASELSAN and TOBB ETÜ, "QuanT" was introduced as a significant step in the global technology race.
The first quantum computer project, which has been managed for many years, has become a project that strengthens Turkey's technology infrastructure and enables a major step forward in becoming a significant player at the global level. In this field, where developed countries are investing billions of dollars in secure communication and data storage methods of strategic importance, the work of TOBB ETÜ has made a significant impact.

Sharing the event on his social media account, Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz stated the following:
"Today, we attended the Turkey's First Quantum Computer Introduction Ceremony program and witnessed another historic step taken by our country in the world of technology. The domestic quantum computer designed by TOBB ETÜ aims to increase our country's international competitiveness in information processing technologies in many fields such as cryptography, artificial intelligence, the defense industry, and materials science.
It is extremely important to provide our young researchers with the opportunity to develop domestic hardware and components through the 'Quantum Ecosystem' to be established within the university and to encourage them to work in the field of quantum technologies. On this occasion, I wholeheartedly congratulate everyone who contributed to the project and wish that our first domestic quantum computer 'QuanT', which is a National Technology Initiative of the Century of Turkey, will be auspicious and beneficial to our entire nation."

WHAT IS QUANTUM TECHNOLOGY?
Quantum technologies have created two major revolutions in science and technology. The first revolution laid the foundations of modern technologies by clarifying atomic structure and electromagnetic fields. The second revolution has paved the way for revolutionary developments in the fields of computing, communication, and sensing through the use of quantum properties.
WHAT IS THE QUANTUM COMPUTER "QUANT"?
Turkey's first quantum computer "QuanT" uses units called qubits. Qubits have a much more powerful computing capacity compared to classical bits by containing both 0 and 1 probabilities at the same time. Developed in collaboration with ASELSAN and TOBB ETÜ, this system will have a capacity of 5 qubits in the first stage and will offer significant advantages, especially in the defense industry and optimization problems.
