The resolution draft submitted by Washington called for an "immediate and sustained ceasefire" lasting approximately six weeks that would protect civilians and allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli stated regarding the Gaza resolution at the UNSC, "We view this as a positive step. Our hope is that Israel will fulfill the requirements of this resolution as soon as possible."
