Turkey's largest gym chain is being sold

MACFit, Turkey's largest gym chain, has been sold to the Poland-based Benefit Systems, along with the shares of Mars Spor, which was a partnership between the Sabancı family and Actera Group. The Competition Authority has given the green light to the massive $420 million sale.

Turkey's largest gym chain is being sold

Mars Spor Kulübü ve Tesisleri İşletmeciliği A.Ş., the owner of MACFit, in which the Sabancı family is a partner, is being sold to the Polish company Benefit Systems S.A. The transaction, in which the entire company changed hands for $420 million, has also been approved by the Competition Authority.

In addition to being one of the largest gym chains in Turkey, Mars Spor had been operating through a partnership between Esas Holding and Actera Group. With this sale, all shares of the company have passed to its new Poland-based owner.

$420 MILLION TRANSFER TRANSACTION

According to the sales agreement, Benefit Systems will acquire 100 percent of Mars Spor's shares. The amount determined for the transfer was announced as exactly $420 million.

305 THOUSAND MEMBERS, 121 BRANCHES

MACFit provides services at 121 different locations across Turkey and has approximately 305 thousand members. The company's annual revenue as of 2024 was recorded at $112 million.

NEW OWNER'S GROWTH PLAN IS READY

Benefit Systems aims to grow its presence in the Turkish market. In this context, it is planned to open 26 new MACFit branches in 2025 and 22 in 2026.
