Turkey's oil imports increased by 1.85 percent in August compared to the same month last year

Turkey's petroleum product imports increased by 1.85 percent in August compared to the same month last year, reaching 4 million 431 thousand 668 tons. The highest volume of imports came from Russia, Iraq, and Kazakhstan.

Turkey's oil imports increased by 1.85 percent in August compared to the same month last year

According to the "Petroleum Market Sector Report" for August by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), imports of crude oil, which constitute the largest item in Turkey's total oil imports, decreased by 7.11 percent to 2 million 649 thousand 870 tons.

During this period, imports of diesel types decreased by 22.5 percent to 1 million 273 thousand 878 tons.

The remainder of the imports consisted of aviation and marine fuels, gasoline and fuel-oil types, and other products.

Thus, total imports increased by 1.85 percent in August compared to the same month last year, reaching 4 million 431 thousand 668 tons.

The highest volume of crude oil and petroleum product imports was from Russia with 1 million 313 thousand 38 tons, followed by Iraq with 487 thousand 683 tons and Kazakhstan with 316 thousand 212 tons.

On the other hand, domestic gasoline sales increased by 40.2 percent in August compared to the same month last year, rising to 519 thousand 186 tons, while diesel sales increased by 9 percent to 2 million 429 thousand 967 tons.

Total petroleum product sales were recorded as 3 million 110 thousand 114 tons, an increase of 12.6 percent.

PETROLEUM PRODUCT EXPORTS INCREASED BY 0.8 PERCENT

Turkey's aviation fuel exports increased by 0.42 percent in August compared to the same month last year, reaching 574 thousand 316 tons, while marine fuel exports rose by 104.7 percent to 159 thousand 37 tons.

Gasoline type exports decreased by 67.2 percent to 8 thousand 687 tons, while diesel type exports increased by 42.1 percent to 257 thousand 192 tons.

Total exports in the petroleum market rose by 0.8 percent to 1 million 206 thousand 438 tons.

Production of diesel types decreased by 10.2 percent in August compared to the same month last year, falling to 1 million 304 thousand 879 tons.

Production of gasoline types increased by 5.04 percent to 471 thousand 999 tons, while aviation fuel production decreased by 0.44 percent to 644 thousand 751 tons. Marine fuel production was calculated as 165 thousand 27 tons, an increase of 95.9 percent.

Total refinery petroleum product production decreased by approximately 10.9 percent to 3 million 111 thousand 648 tons.
