Turkey's safest provinces announced: A surprise city at the top

According to the latest research by TUIK, the list of cities with the highest level of security in Turkey has been determined. While cities in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia stand out in the rankings, an unexpected city took the top spot on the list.

In the report prepared based on data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the provinces with the lowest crime rates across the country were announced. The ranking, created according to the number of crimes per one hundred thousand people in each city, allowed many provinces from the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions to stand out among the safe cities.

It was particularly noteworthy that Adıyaman ranked first as the safest province, followed by other cities with low crime rates such as Şırnak and Bitlis. The fact that most of the provinces with low crime rates across Turkey are located in the east was evaluated as a prominent detail in the analyses.

Adıyaman, which is among the leading cities where citizens can feel an environment of peace and security, became the leader of the list with a crime rate of 156 per one hundred thousand. The crime rate of Şırnak, which took second place, was recorded as 159 per one hundred thousand. Bitlis found its place in third place with a rate of 175 per one hundred thousand.

8) Bitlis – 175 per one hundred thousand

9) Şırnak – 159 per one hundred thousand

10) Adıyaman – 156 per one hundred thousand
