Turkey's two-month anchovy exports exceeded 2.1 million dollars. The top three countries for anchovy exports were Belgium, the USA, and France.
Turkey's anchovy exports from January to February 2023 increased by 35 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 2 million 119 thousand 836 dollars.
Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, stated that 577 tons of anchovies were exported from the country in 2 months.
Emphasizing that 2 million 119 thousand 836 dollars in revenue was generated from these exports, Kalyoncu stated that this figure represents a 90 percent increase in quantity and a 35 percent increase in value compared to the same period last year, when 303 tons were exported for 1 million 569 thousand 373 dollars.
Kalyoncu noted that Belgium, the USA, and France were the top three countries for anchovy exports, saying, "In the first 2 months of the year, 524 thousand 936 dollars worth of anchovies were sold to Belgium, 401 thousand 109 dollars to the USA, and 368 thousand 287 dollars to France from Turkey."
