Turkish Airlines flight hits turbulence: 6 injured

Turkish Airlines Press Consultant Yahya Üstün announced in a statement on his social media account that the aircraft, which departed from Istanbul last night bound for Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, encountered turbulence due to adverse weather conditions 2 hours before landing.

Stating that the aircraft landed safely at Taipei Songshan Airport, Üstün noted that 6 people, 4 passengers and 2 flight crew members, were slightly injured in the incident, and added the following:

"Our aircraft with tail code TC-JJE, operating our TK24 Istanbul-Taipei flight, was exposed to adverse weather conditions (turbulence) approximately 2 hours away from Taipei airport. In our aircraft, which carried 214 passengers and a 17-person flight crew, 4 passengers and 2 cabin staff were slightly injured due to the turbulence. Our aircraft landed at Taipei airport without any issues, and medical teams met the plane; according to the initial intervention, no serious findings were encountered. Additionally, 2 passengers were referred to the hospital upon their request. Turkish Airlines, which always prioritizes flight and passenger safety, is deeply saddened by the incident. The health status of our passengers and crew is being closely monitored."
