Turkish Airlines resumes flights to Afghanistan

Turkish Airlines (THY), which suspended its flights following the withdrawal of US-led NATO forces from Afghanistan in August 2021, is resuming its Kabul services after a 3-year hiatus.

Turkish Airlines resumes flights to Afghanistan

Turkish Airlines (THY) is resuming its Afghanistan flights on Tuesday, May 21. 

Flights between Istanbul and the capital, Kabul, will be operated 4 days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday—using Airbus 330 type aircraft.

The aircraft, which will depart from Istanbul Airport at 00:40, will reach Kabul at 06:45 local time after a flight of approximately 4.5 hours.

Following the Taliban's takeover of the country, the United Arab Emirates-based Flydubai resumed its flights to the country in November 2023, while Afghanistan's Kam Air and Ariana Afghan Airlines currently operate flights from Kabul to Dubai, Moscow, Islamabad, and Istanbul.
