According to a report by the Greek publication eKathimerini, the long-awaited technical meeting between Greek port authorities and Turkish coast guard officials will take place on the island of Chios on November 12.
The meeting aims to increase cooperation in the Aegean Sea, focusing on the fight against human trafficking and improving communication between local authorities.

A SOLUTION TO THE GROWING MIGRATION PROBLEM
Greek officials have highlighted the need for stronger coordination, drawing attention to the recent increase in migration issues. A high-ranking Greek official pointed out that boats departing from Turkey can reach Greek islands like Symi in just nine minutes, stating that this situation requires faster and more direct cooperation between the two countries' naval forces.
The newspaper also reported that Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya is expected to visit Greece at the end of November, and that this visit aims to further strengthen bilateral cooperation on migration and maritime security.
