Turkish gangs settle scores in Greece: Victims identified as members of the Bayğaralar gang

Following the killing of 6 men belonging to Barış Boyun, the leader of the Daltonlar Gang who was captured in Italy, in Greece last year, another similar gang settling of scores has taken place.

Mehmet Baykurt and Yıldıray Öztürk lost their lives as a result of an armed attack after entering a supermarket in the city of Piraeus, Greece.

While Greek and Turkish police cooperated following the murder, it was determined that those killed in the attack were men of Ramazan Bayğara (29), the leader of the 'Bayğaralar' gang who was captured in the Ampelokipi district of Athens on May 10.

Ramazan Bayğara, for whom Turkey had issued 14 arrest warrants and who was sought with a 'red notice,' had been involved in numerous crimes in Adana, including murder, assault, threats, and extortion.

ATTACKER'S STATEMENT EMERGES

According to a report by Yorgo Kırbaki from Hürriyet, the initial statement given to the police by the unidentified attacker, who confessed to the crime after being captured, has emerged.

The attacker reportedly said, 'I only knew one of the 2 people I shot in the supermarket. He had killed my uncle because he didn't pay the extortion money he demanded. I wanted revenge. I learned from his social media account that he was in Greece.'

BARIŞ BOYUN'S 6 MEN HAD BEEN EXECUTED IN ATHENS

Six men belonging to Barış Boyun, who was captured in Italy last May, were killed in an armed attack in Athens, the capital of Greece, in September 2023.

Following the bloody settling of scores between Turkish gangs in Greece, the Istanbul Police Department had determined that members of the Barış Boyun criminal organization were preparing for an action to take revenge.

In simultaneous operations held in Istanbul and Izmir, 10 suspects were detained. It was revealed that Ömer Faruk T. and Enes T., among those captured, were the brothers of Abdurrahman T. and Burak T., who were killed in Athens.
