Türksat 6A has successfully reached its test orbit

Türksat 6A has reached its temporary orbit at 50 degrees east. The antennas of Türksat 6A will be deployed here for the first time and its tests will be conducted.

Following the verifications to be carried out here over a period of 3 months, Türksat 6A will move in October to its 42 degrees east orbit, where it will serve for 15 years.

Türksat 6A is planned to begin service in November.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that Türksat 6A has settled into its test orbit at 50 degrees east at an altitude of 35,786 kilometers and that its payload antennas, which will expand its coverage area, have been successfully deployed.

In a post on his social media account, Kacır stated, "Türksat 6A has settled into its test orbit at 50 degrees east at an altitude of 35,786 kilometers. After tests lasting approximately 3 months, it will set off for its final orbit at 42 degrees east. The payload antennas on our satellite, which will expand Turkey's communications coverage area, were successfully deployed today. I congratulate all our teams who have done a flawless job up to this moment."

TURKEY'S 9TH ACTIVE SATELLITE

Prior to Türksat 6A, Turkey had 8 active satellites, including 5 communications satellites (Türksat 3A, Türksat 4A, Türksat 4B, Türksat 5A, Türksat 5B) and 3 observation satellites (Göktürk-1, Göktürk-2, and İMECE).

Türksat 6A has become the 9th active satellite in the fleet.
