Two different İmralı interpretations from Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu: 'It is not a legitimate body'

The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, established in Parliament with the goal of a "Turkey without terrorism," decided to visit İmralı following a closed-door vote during its 18th meeting held on Friday. The CHP did not participate in the vote and opposed the visit.

Sharing a video on his social media account, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "The CHP must be involved in the process to ward off the trouble of Israel and the US, who are waiting for us to stumble in the Middle East, and for the supreme interests of the state. And it must look at the issue from a supra-political perspective and take responsibility."

HERE IS THE STATEMENT IN WHICH KILIÇDAROĞLU MADE THE REFERENCE TO İMRALI:

"The CHP charts the course for the state. Turkey cannot be confined to the geographies where it has exerted influence and given martyrs. It cannot be squeezed in the brotherly geography with which it has established bonds of affection. The CHP must be involved in the process to ward off the trouble of Israel and the US, who are waiting for us to stumble in the Middle East, and for the supreme interests of the state. And it must look at the issue from a supra-political perspective and take responsibility. Our nation's expectation from the CHP is to be a pioneer in the brotherhood process and to chart the course. Being on the right side of history often requires courage and determination."

KEMAL KILIÇDAROĞLU'S PAST WORDS RECALLED

While the İmralı messages shared by former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on his social media account continue to be debated, interviews given by Kılıçdaroğlu during his time as chairman have surfaced on social media.

Criticizing the CHP's decision not to go to İmralı, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's remarks made while he was CHP Chairman, "The institution you call the state does not engage with an illegitimate body. İmralı is not a legitimate body," drew attention.
