Two major resignations from the Victory Party

Victory Party Deputy Chair for Women, Family and Child Policies Nilgün Sadıkoğlu Danışman and General Administrative Board (GİK) member Alptürk Kaya announced their resignations through their social media accounts. 

In a statement made on her X account, Sadıkoğlu stated that the institutional structure within the party could not be established and that the party had drifted away from its founding philosophy. 

Sadıkoğlu's X post is as follows:

During the duties I have held to date, and especially with the recent developments;

1. That the institutional structure within the party could not be established and that this has become a persistent situation,

2. That the party has gradually drifted away from its founding philosophy,

3. That it will continue with an organizational structure that does not observe merit and qualifications,

4. That it has been observed that the structures and members acting independently of the party's legal entity under the name of the organization, as understood from recent events, have engaged in behaviors that interrupt the work of the party's candidates during election processes, consciously cause harm, and even support the candidates of other parties through open or covert actions,

5. That importance is given only to the rhetoric of a few among the General Administrative Board members, but the structure of the Board is not respected,

6. That the party's authorized bodies, especially the General Administrative Board, are not allowed to operate in accordance with the law,

7. That despite repeated warnings regarding many behaviors and statements that lead to the loss of reputation of the party and the Chairman, those who engage in these attitudes are always protected as if they were “co-chairs,” even for their most public mistakes, and get away with it, while conversely, sanctions and pressure are applied to sensitive members who rightfully do not accept this result,

8. That although members of the Executive Board should support each other's legal work, there is no support even for posts made on social media, except for a few members who receive personal protection,

9. That not only are the necessary measures not taken for Executive Board members to engage in politics under equal conditions, but actions are taken in the opposite direction,

10. That the necessary disciplinary processes are not carried out regarding Executive Board members who make morally inappropriate statements during board meetings,

11. That individuals given the title of “advisor” under the name of the organization, who also hold other roles in the party, engage in inappropriate actions against Executive Board members, even violating basic rules of respect, and that this is condoned,

12. As a result of all this, a certain segment has come to feel untouchable and does not hesitate to continue their reckless behavior, and even receives support for such actions,

It is understood that the party does not act in unity and integrity,

For my part, there is no longer any belief that the negatives within this structure can be corrected.

For this reason, I hereby announce that I am resigning from my duties, primarily as Deputy Chair, as well as from my memberships in the Founders' Board and the General Administrative Board, and even from party membership."

"PECULIAR TO ARABS..."

In his social media post, Kaya stated that the Ataturkist and Turkish nationalist view cannot be effectively implemented within the Victory Party. 

Kaya's X post is as follows:

"With the duty to put the party on a path consistent with the law and the Ataturk line, as required by the duties and titles I have undertaken,

While the general election results could be understood in some way as they were the first elections entered, the fact that the local elections also resulted in failure is largely due to the current organizational structure, whose incompetence and unlawful actions have justifiably provoked the reaction of educated voters,

Furthermore, I submitted a written motion to the General Administrative Board on 10/04/2024, requesting the operation of the party's authorized bodies by disclosing information and opinions regarding certain individuals within this structure whose notable titles lead to questioning the party's claims of being on the Ataturk line.

In the process following the submission of this motion, it was learned that the approaches of these issues and the individuals for whom internal party disciplinary paths were requested to be operated toward Ataturk and the values he represents were solely my own problem and concern.

As a requirement of Republican values, while I was trying to bring the “board's will” to the forefront and make the General Administrative Board legally and practically functional,

The fact that individuals who do not hesitate or feel ashamed to say they “act with a sense of allegiance” – peculiar to Arabs, as they describe themselves – are protected and supported by the Chairman, who makes statements claiming to be completely against such things, has led to the disappearance of the trust I have felt until today.

Because I did not withdraw the motion I shared in the correspondence environment where board members are present, and my views and evaluations in this context, despite all the insistence and pressure, I was removed from the General Administrative Board's communication network on 11/04/2024 by the Chairman himself.

That a young Turk who has sworn to follow Ataturk as the sole and unchanging leader will not show hesitation in the requirements of his faith and conviction,

That with these methods, those who are concerned with personal interests that I have no interest in might perhaps be intimidated,

But it is clear that true Turkish nationalists, who follow the tradition of men who overthrew Sultans and Caliphs by applying revolutionary law when the time came, cannot be intimidated.

Turkists, who find their personalities in the Unionist and Republican tradition, know well that great men did not act separately from an assembly that would not refrain from criticizing them even under the most difficult conditions.

This event has proven that Ataturkist and Turkish nationalist views cannot find the opportunity to be effectively implemented in the Victory Party as it is structured today,

For this reason, it has been seen as a necessity to resign from all duties and titles in the Victory Party and from party membership.

My main concern is that;

In the current political environment, the Victory Party, which not only Turkish nationalists but every individual concerned for the Turkish homeland, the Turkish state, and the Turkish nation has begun to see as a last resort and refuge,

As long as issues that I, as a Turkish nationalist, cannot accept are ignored,

Will not only suffer a great loss of trust and reputation itself, but could also cause severe and irreparable damage to the institution of Turkish nationalism.

Turkish history will not forgive such a situation and its invaders."
