Two more famous names test 'positive' for drugs
Social media influencer Ali Sert and singer Rabia Karataş, who were detained as part of a drug investigation targeting celebrities, have been arrested. It has been learned that the drug tests for Sert and Karataş returned positive.
In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau, detention warrants were issued for 6 suspects on charges of "possession of drugs or stimulants for personal use," "facilitating the use of drugs," "encouraging, facilitating, mediating, or providing a venue for prostitution," and "providing a venue and facilities for gambling."
In this context, an operation was carried out by teams from the Narcotics Crimes Division and the Provincial Gendarmerie Command. During the operation, Oktay Kaynarca, Emel Müftüoğlu, Neda Şahin, Ali Sert, Rabia Karataş, and Selen Çetinkaya were detained.
After undergoing health checks at the hospital, the suspects were taken to the Council of Forensic Medicine (ATK). Following the procedures there, the suspects were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
After their statements were taken at the prosecutor's office, suspects Oktay Kaynarca and Emel Müftüoğlu were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for judicial control in the form of "house arrest." The judgeship decided to impose a judicial control measure in the form of a "travel ban" on Kaynarca and Müftüoğlu.
Following the prosecutor's office procedures, Ali Sert and Rabia Karataş, who were among the other suspects sent to the criminal judgeship of peace, were arrested. It was decided that judicial control provisions would be applied to suspects Neda Şahin and Selen Çetinkaya.
