Two trucks collide on TEM Highway: Traffic gridlocked
On the Çatalca section of the TEM Highway in Istanbul, a truck loaded with rope struck another truck performing road work. Both truck drivers were injured in the accident. The crash caused heavy traffic congestion in the area.
A traffic accident involving two trucks occurred on the TEM Highway in Istanbul.
The accident took place around 11:30 AM near the Çatalca toll booths on the TEM Highway.
The driver of a truck loaded with rope, traveling in the direction of Ankara, lost control of the steering wheel, crossed into the opposite lane, and struck another truck belonging to the General Directorate of Highways that was performing road work. One truck driver was trapped in the vehicle during the accident. Fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
The trapped driver was extracted by fire crews and handed over to medical teams.
The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Materials from the truck were scattered across the road due to the accident, and heavy traffic formed in both lanes of the TEM Highway.
