UAV crashes in Kocaeli: Interior Ministry states it is of Russian origin
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has crashed in a rural area in the Izmit district of Kocaeli. Gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region following reports. The Ministry of Interior has issued a statement regarding the crashed UAV.
According to the information obtained, in the ruralarea of Çubuklubala neighborhood, citizens who saw thestationaryaerial vehiclereported the situation to the authorities.
Upon the report, gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area.
An investigation has been launched into the crashed UAV.
BELIEVED TO BE RUSSIAN
The crashed UAV is a Russian-made Orlan-10 type reconnaissance drone it was alleged.
According toclaims, the vehicle foundhad the red star symbol on its tail section, which is used onRussianmilitary aircraft.is located inthe area. The Orlan-10 UAV is known to have an operational range of approximately 600 kilometers.

The Ministry of National DefenIn the statement made by the ministry, it was stated that the UAV was brought down in the most appropriate area.It was also stated that warnings were issued to Russia and Ukraine regarding the UAV.
