Ultimatum to Bahçeli from People's Alliance partner Destici: We can never accept this
The latest call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli has set the stage for a brand-new debate. Mustafa Destici, Chairman of the BBP and a partner in the People's Alliance, did not look favorably upon Bahçeli's proposal to establish a commission in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to determine the roadmap to be followed after the terrorist organization PKK's declaration of dissolution.
Speaking about the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, which is being described as a new era, Destici said, "As the Great Unity Party (BBP), we will continue to stand with the conscience of the nation.
We have always stood with the common sense of our nation, and most of all, with those who have been victimized by PKK terrorism.
We stand with the spiritual presence of our martyrs, the promises we have made to our martyrs and veterans, and their families; we are behind them, and we will continue to stand by them until the end," he said.
"IT BECOMES AN INSOLUBLE SITUATION"
Stating that there is no Kurdish issue in Turkey, but rather a terrorism issue, Destici said, "If it is said in this country that 'there is a Kurdish issue' and this is brought to this Parliament or elsewhere, the matter takes on an insoluble state and dimension.
There is no Kurdish issue in this country. There is a terrorism issue, and this issue has been ended, uprooted, and concluded with victory by the heroic security forces of the heroic Republic of Turkey.
That is why the PKK has knelt down and announced that it will lay down its arms and dissolve itself. We can never accept the 'Kurdish issue' matter, which has been voiced by those who have supported it until today," he said.
