Ümit Özdağ's defense and the judge's decision document regarding him have emerged: The events in Kayseri

In his statement to the duty magistrate judge, Özdağ stated that Turkey is the country receiving the most migration in the world, and that as the Zafer Party, they believe this population hinders development in Turkey and that Turkey faces a geopolitical threat.

Ümit Özdağ said, "We want the mines that were removed after 2011 to be re-laid, and for refugees to be sent back in accordance with the law through the Anatolia Project. We have no hostility toward Syrians. May God not let what happened to the Syrians happen to anyone."

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ continued his defense as follows:

"The Zafer Party has no connection or involvement with the events in Kayseri. I am sensitive about not disrupting the unity and integrity of Turkey, and the Zafer Party has never carried out any action that would disrupt this integrity. The Twitter account in the case file belongs to me. I do not accept the accusation leveled against me. I request to be released."

In the judge's decision, it was stated that within the framework of the nature and character of the crime of "publicly inciting the public to hatred and hostility," the current state of evidence, and the documents in the file, there is concrete evidence indicating the existence of strong suspicion that Özdağ committed the crime he is accused of.

The document noted that, considering the lower and upper limits of the penalty determined by law for the crime in question, the manner in which the actions were carried out, the existence of concrete facts indicating that Özdağ might flee, the fact that evidence has not yet been fully collected, and that there is no obstacle to the suspect's arrest, it was decided to arrest the suspect as judicial control measures were deemed insufficient.

Meanwhile, it was learned that the arrested Özdağ was taken to the Marmara Closed Penal Institution.
