Ümit Özdağ's commentary on the DEM report: The destruction of the Republic of Türkiye and the establishment of a new state in its place
Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ stated, "The report containing DEM's demands is about the destruction of the Republic of Türkiye and the establishment of a new state in its place. Let no one lie to anyone, and let no one lie to the Turkish people."
Özdağ attended the opening of his party's Manavgat DistrictPresidency.Answering questions fromjournaliststhere, Özdağ addressed the government's "Terrorstruggle"regarding the processreferred to asa "statelessTürkiye," he said the followingin response to questions:
"Negotiations with terrorism do not end terrorism. The terrorist organization's attempt to manipulate Türkiye...defeat and the imposition of their conditions. We are facing those who do not accept the Treaty of Lausanne, who say 'We have done nothing to be forgiven for, so why should we ask for amnesty,' and who view terrorist acts as a legitimaterebellion, and who want the preamble of our Constitutionto be changed, who want Article 66 and Article 42 to be changed, and who also claim that Turkey is composed of two nationsandaccepted this.demanding that we accept its existence andseeking regional autonomy, Türkiye is facing a terrorist organization and its political representative. The report containing DEM's demands is about the The destruction of the Republic of Türkiyeand the establishment of a new state in its place. Let no one lie toanyone, and let the Turkish peoplenot be lied toeither. EIf theyclaim that whatwe have saidis not true, then release all the minutes of the meetings held between the three members of parliament and the leader of the terrorist organizationat Imralıin full.let them explain."
Terrorism, regarding how theproblem will beresolved, to the question Özdağ gave the following response:
"We believe that the fight against terrorism must be carried out with an uncompromisingzero-tolerance principle, in a way that willforce the terrorist organization to surrender, and that thisstrugglemust be realized. Thisstruggle should not only benot only within theborders, butastruggle thatwouldencompass the entire Middle Eastregion isnecessarywe are thinking. And Türkiye haspartially realized this struggle and was successful. When thesenegotiations with the PKKbegan, thePKK's presence within Türkiyewassignificantlyreduced.had no actions left. And our army had gained control in Haftanin, which the PKK claimed was impenetrable, and in the innerregions of Northern Iraq with the Claw-Lock operation. We won, friends, the fight against terror; we won itrepeatedly. Now, it is as if Türkiye has lost a warand they are saying, 'We will sign a peace treaty.' The main interlocutor of the stateis said to be 'Öcalan.' The Republic of Türkiye and the terrorist called Öcalanare being placed on equal footing. This is an insult to the Turkish nation.can it be accepted and treated as a counterpart at this level? But we are going through a period where these things are happening and these things arebeingsaid.""PKK HAS
DRUGMONEY"Özdağ
continued.Özdağ, claiming that the PKK terrorist organization obtains its economic sourcefrom narcotics, stated the following: "This is a narco-terror
ist organization. It earns from drugs. That is whyit is...for Türkiye'sfight againstdrugs, which we aim to achieve with our 'Spotless Türkiye' project, and at the sametime, the fightagainst the PKK terrorist organization. Today, the organization has 23 billion Euros and 3 billion dollars in fundsand this is drug money. Thowbiga drug trafficker thisorganization is. Further more, thisorganization, if the current process continues, will notstop being a drug traffickerwill not pass, and the organization will notdisintegrate either. The PKK has not disintegrated and will not disintegrate. On the contrary, they will say, 'We have won a victory against Türkiye. We havehad our conditions accepted,' they will say. And they have already started saying this."
Criticizing the government's Syria policy, Özdağ used the following expressions:
"As for the Syria policy, it is a completely wrong policy from start to finish. Tis the worst foreign policy in the history of theRepublic of Turkey. And we have not yetexperienced all the bad consequences. What we have been through since 2011 was merely an introduction. From now on, it will challenge us much more. Yesterday, Trump made astatement and said that he gave the Golan Heights to Israel. You saw it, didn'tyou? I thought we had won a victory in Syria? I would like to hear what those who say 'we won a victory in Syria' have to comment now."
"Do they know that the personwho hung the Turkish flagon the Aleppo Citadel was killedbyHTS?"Now that the time has come,
I am asking.let me say this. When Basharal-Assad was being toppled inSyria, when I said thiswas an Israeli project, an American project, somecircles claimed that a Turkish flag was being hoisted on the citadelin Aleppo.showing that thiswas a Turkish project, theyclaimed. The person who hung the Turkish flagon the Aleppo Citadel was by HTS was killedhisday, was executeddo they know that? That is why our holidaysfordo not open our mouthstomake us speak.
You have before you a party chairman who has been working on the capillaries of international relations and the Middle East not just for days, but for decades. When HTS units first entered Aleppo, perhaps no one in Ankara was aware of it, but I was aware of what was happening in Aleppo, what was ending, and how thisprocess was turning into a damnable defeat for Türkiye. You have before you a party chairman who has been working on the capillaries of international relations and the Middle East not just for days, but for decades. When HTS units first entered Aleppo, perhaps no one in Ankara was aware of it, but I was aware of what was happening in Aleppo, what was ending, and how thisprocess was turning into adamnable defeat for Türkiye.I wassadlyawareof it back then, and todaywe are experiencingthose results. That is why a PKK state is being established in Syria;the Syria policy being pursuedbecause of this."
"TURKEYI INWEARENOTTRYING TOIGNORETHISREALITY."
Stating that his party would not compromise on its policies, Özdağ spoke as follows:
"The Turkish nation knows that the Zafer Party, in this process as well as in its other policies, has nostanding firm without making any concessions, not taking a step back, not compromising, and continuingtheir struggle in a calm but powerful manner. They seethat. And we will continue to do so. Look, one yearhas passed. I was arrested after the rally I held here in Antalyabefore. About 11 months have passed, and I am hereagain. This time, I am holding a panel. The subject is the same again. There is no compromisebecause we are fulfilling the duty given to us by Atatürk in his Address to the Youth. We are defending the unityand integrity of Türkiye. Bah......Bahçeli had said, 'In the coming process, a lot will change, everything will change. Hopefully, Türkiye will notchange.' We are alsoworking so that Bahçeli's prayer comes true.Hopefully, Tand we are tryingnot to change Turkeyeither."
Regarding the question ofwhat percentage of the votethe Zafer Party hasin public opinion polls. regarding this, Özdağ noted the following:
“Let's have some polls conducted. As an academic who also conducts polls, I know very well how lies are toldwith numbers. We do not yet have a newstudy that we have conducted. But from our observations in the field, our party has no threshold problemit appears they will enter the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, but what matters is not just entering Parliament, but being part of the government and ruling Turkey."
