UN calls for transparent and credible investigation into Israel's attack on TRT team
Stating that Israel's attack on the TRT team clearly demonstrates the dangers journalists face in Gaza, the UN has called for a transparent and credible investigation into the incident.
UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric provided a written statement to an Anadolu Agency reporter regarding Israel's attack on journalists, including the TRT team.
Noting that they do not yet have detailed information about the incident, Dujarric stated, "This incident clearly demonstrates the dangers that journalists face in Gaza."
Dujarric added, "This, like other incidents, must be investigated in a transparent and credible manner."
Pointing out that journalists, including those working for TRT in Gaza, as well as in Palestine, Sudan, and many other places, face difficulties, Dujarric said, "Journalists all over the world are striving to do their jobs safely."
The Israeli army targeted a group of journalists, including the TRT Arabic team, who were covering developments in the region during an attack on the Nuseirat Refugee Camp.
It was reported that during the attacks, cameraman Sami Muhammad Shehadeh from the TRT Arabic team, Muhammad Hassan al-Sawalhi from CNN, and freelance journalist Ahmed Bakir al-Luh were targeted and injured by the Israeli army.
