Unemployment drives teacher awaiting appointment to suicide

37-year-old art teacher Ömer Şahin, who lived in Kırşehir, has ended his life. It was learned that Şahin, who hanged himself from a watchtower in Aşıkpaşa Nature Park, had recently lost his job as a course instructor at the Public Education Directorate as part of austerity measures and had been struggling with economic difficulties for some time. 

In their investigation, law enforcement officials discovered that Şahin was registered to the village of Karahıdır. 

According to the information obtained, the art course at the Public Education Directorate where Şahin worked was closed as part of austerity measures. It is believed that the art teacher, Ömer Şahin, fell into a depression and ended his life after becoming unemployed and facing economic hardship. 

While austerity measures have caused serious financial difficulties, especially for those working in the public sector and teachers awaiting appointment, it is stated that Ömer Şahin was also negatively affected by this situation.
