Following the Türk-İş Union's decision to celebrate May 1st alone, all eyes have turned to other unions. While DİSK, KESK, TMMOB, and TTB are expected to hold separate celebrations, it has been learned that the relevant delegations will meet with Istanbul Governor Davut Gül tomorrow.
With little time left until the May 1st Labor Day, the celebration programs of the unions have begun to take shape. Following the decision of the pro-government Türk-İş to celebrate alone, it has been learned that DİSK, KESK, TMMOB, and TTB have also decided to hold separate celebrations.
For the final decision, all eyes have turned to the meeting that the relevant delegations will hold with Istanbul Governor Davut Gül tomorrow. According to the report in Cumhuriyet, DİSK, KESK, TMMOB, and TTB want to celebrate May 1st with the widest possible participation all across Turkey. The problems and demands of labor, justice in taxes and income, rights violations, problems in working life, and "work-related murders" will also be voiced during the celebrations in the squares.
An emphasis on "democracy" will also come to the fore in this year's May 1st celebrations.
