Until when will LGS applications continue?
Applications for the central exam under the High School Transition System (LGS), which will be held by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) on June 2, have begun. Applications will be made optionally via "e-Okul" until March 29.
According to the Central Exam Application and Implementation Guide for Secondary Education Institutions That Will Accept Students by Exam at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year, the central exam to be held to select students for science high schools, social sciences high schools, project schools, and the Anatolian technical programs of vocational and technical Anatolian high schools for students studying in the 8th grade of public and private secondary schools and imam hatip secondary schools will be administered on June 2.
Central exam applications will be made optionally via "e-Okul" starting from today until March 29. Participation in the exam will be optional, and students who wish to participate will be able to make their applications electronically free of charge.
School administrations will provide guidance to students regarding the application process, and exam applications will be approved by school administrations until April 1, 2024.
Students studying abroad in schools not registered in the e-Okul system will make their applications by filling out the form found in the published guide.
Students will be able to track whether their applications have been made electronically.
EXAM SCOPE
Based on the learning outcomes determined in the 8th-grade curriculum for each field, the exam will include questions designed to measure the student's reading comprehension, interpretation, drawing conclusions, problem-solving, analysis, critical thinking, scientific process, and similar skills.
HOW WILL ADMISSION DOCUMENTS BE OBTAINED?
The exam will be held in schools determined in provinces and districts. The photo-bearing exam admission document will be obtained electronically by school administrations starting from May 24, sealed, and delivered to students after being approved.
Students must bring their photo-bearing approved admission documents and valid identification documents with them when coming to the exam.
WHEN WILL THE RESULTS BE ANNOUNCED?
The first session of the exam will start at 9:30 AM, and the second session will start at 11:30 AM. In the first session, students will be asked a total of 50 questions from Turkish, History of the Turkish Republic and Atatürkism, Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge, and Foreign Language courses, and they will be given 75 minutes to answer them.
In the second session, students will be asked a total of 40 questions from Mathematics and Science courses, and they will be given 80 minutes to answer them. The number of correct and incorrect answers will be determined for each sub-test in the verbal and numerical sections. Each student's raw score for each sub-test will be calculated by subtracting one-third of the number of incorrect answers from the number of correct answers for the relevant test.
Exam results will be announced on June 28, 2024, at the website "www.meb.gov.tr".
Exam result documents will not be sent to students by mail.
