US decides to extradite Timur Cihantimur and Eylem Tok to Turkey! Grieving father speaks for the first time
The US District Court for the District of Massachusetts has decided to extradite Timur Cihantimur, who caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci while driving without a license in Istanbul, and his mother Eylem Tok, who smuggled him to the US, to Turkey. Aci's father, Özer Aci, welcomed the decision, stating that he is eagerly awaiting the extradition process and that this struggle will continue.
Timur Cihantimur, who is currently in the US and caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci by driving without a license in Istanbul, and his mother Eylem Tok, who smuggled him out of the country, will be extradited to Turkey.
GRIEVING FATHER SPEAKS FOR THE FIRST TIME
In a statement following the decision, Oğuz Murat Aci's grieving father, Özer Aci, stated that he had fought with patience, that he was looking forward to the extradition process, and that he would strive to ensure the perpetrators receive the harshest possible sentences.
MINISTER TUNÇ ANNOUNCED THE DECISION
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced on the social media platform X that a decision had been made to extradite Eylem Tok and Timur Cihantimur to Turkey, following the fatal traffic accident in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, after which they fled first to Egypt and then to the United States (US).
"I FOUGHT"
Regarding the extradition of the mother and son to Turkey, the grieving father of Oğuz Murat Aci, who lost his life in the accident, said: "I believed in my case. As a result of this belief, I fought, I made an effort, I didn't sleep, I stayed sleepless. I did whatever was necessary for my case. This is still just the beginning. I kept saying 'Eylem Tok will come back in handcuffs,' but she chose to come back in handcuffs. That's her own business. They thought, 'I'll flee to the US, I have money, I'll cover my tracks.' Her conscience is gnawing at her from the inside, and it will continue to do so. She raises a bright child, and now she will hand him over to Turkish justice willy-nilly. They thought I was someone living in a village, alone, poor, who would forget over time. It has been exactly 1 year. What happened? The Ministry of Justice called and said they would be extradited to Turkey. We have 1-2 months left. I will be waiting with bated breath, I will meet them at the airport. It has brought relief to our hearts. You know how a person falls, gets tired, and needs energy; well, this is my energy.
Just as I was falling to the ground, I stood up, and I am continuing the fight upright. Thanks to you, our state, politicians, and our Minister of Justice, I am continuing the fight. I am not alone; the wind blew from behind me, not in front of me. What they did did not go unpunished, and it will not. I hope Turkish Justice gives an exemplary decision. Such people do not hit, cause an accident, and run away; they cannot run away. I never imagined losing a child at this age, but they also didn't imagine that a 17-year-old child would spend a year in prison in a place like the US. This is divine justice. You hit and kill someone, but that person also has a mother, a father, and children. You act on maternal instinct, but what would have happened if you had put him in the car and acted like a mother to our children too? What would you have lost? In my opinion, she killed her own child alive. As for this event, it brought relief to our hearts, but has our wound healed? No. This is not an easy thing. Even though 1 year has passed, we are at the same point, in the same situation. Nothing will change until justice is served. I will work, I will strive, I will fight for them to receive the highest sentences until our hearts are truly at peace."
"I am not alone; there are thousands of hearts that make my pain their own. We have always seen Eylem Tok and her murderer child through the press like this. How can a person do such evil to their own child? What kind of mother is this that she does evil to both my child and her own child? When I see her, I will ask her this. Is this what motherhood is? Is every criminal smuggled by their mother? Is this what is required? Why did she run away? I need to ask her this. Are there no relatives of Eylem Tok here?
The so-called doctor who divorced her doesn't call me, and no one from the family calls either. We don't need that, but the state is apologizing to the state. What happened? They had money. They spent millions of dollars and fled from there to here. What did they get? Zero. They have been in prison for 8 months. I spoke with the Minister; it will take 2 more months. They have been in prison for 10 months in a place like the US. I said, 'I will make the world narrow for you; even if you go to Fezzan, I will follow you.' They thought I was passive. I am calling out to the doctor here too: don't think I'm passive, doctor. I don't have as much money as you, but there are thousands of people who count my pain as their own.
"THEY ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT MONEY"
I said to his face too, 'You did wrong, doctor.' This has turned into a war between materialism and spirituality. They are still talking about money. Let's see how far his money's power will go. Time will show this. If they gave me Istanbul, would my son come back? If he says 'price,' let him put a price on his son now, and I will pay that money." he said.
