Decision from the US regarding the Adana Consulate

In a statement from the US Embassy, it was noted that large-scale protests against Israel are expected to take place across Turkey in the coming days.

It was stated that tensions could escalate and violent incidents could occur during demonstrations intended to be peaceful.

It was also conveyed that the protests "could lead to an increased police presence, road closures, and traffic disruptions."

The Embassy stated that the Adana Consulate will remain closed until further notice.

It was emphasized that US citizens can reschedule their appointments at the US Embassy in Ankara.

PROTESTERS PELTED THE CONSULATE WITH STONES, ATTEMPTED TO ENTER

Following Israel's bombing of the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital yesterday, citizens gathered in front of the US Consulate in Adana, carrying Turkish and Palestinian flags.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations, reacting to the bombing of the hospital, expressed their opposition to Israel and demanded an immediate end to the oppression.

Following the speeches, a group pelted the consulate with stones and attempted to enter the premises.

A police officer who intervened against the group was injured in the face.

Police teams subsequently dispersed the group.
