US: We will continue to provide Ukraine with the support it needs
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that his country will continue to provide Ukraine with the support it needs.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke at the 22nd video conference meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which includes nearly 50 countries, most of them from Europe.
Stating that they are "meeting at a moment of challenge" due to Russia's increasing military operations in Ukraine, Austin said, "We will continue to provide Ukraine with the support it needs. The United States is committed to doing its part."
Austin noted that urgently needed aid is being delivered to Ukraine, adding, "And the security assistance that we are sending to Ukraine right now will make a real difference in this fight."
Noting that the Ukraine Defense Contact Group has provided more than 95 billion dollars in military aid to Ukraine since February 2022, Austin argued that Ukraine's security is at the heart of European and global security, as well as the security of the United States.
The United States alone has undertaken approximately 50.6 billion dollars of the more than 95 billion dollars in military aid provided to Ukraine.
