Vehicle loses control and crashes into a restaurant in Istanbul: 1 injured
In Istanbul's Maltepe district, a car speeding along the street lost control and crashed into a restaurant located on the road. The driver of the car was injured in the accident.
The incident occurred around 23:00 on Tugay Yolu Street in the Cevizli neighborhood, when a car speeding along the street lost control, hit bollards on the road, and crashed into a restaurant operating as an 'ocakbaşı' (grill house). The driver of the vehicle was slightly injured in the accident.
Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The driver, who was taken to the hospital by ambulance, is in good condition. The vehicle involved in the accident was removed from the scene with the help of a tow truck. An investigation into the accident has been launched.
Speaking about the accident, Anıl Çakıcı said, "We came to Maltepe to eat. The vehicle was very fast. It hit the bollards and went straight into the window there. I was also close to the window. There were 3 of us; thank God, we were fine. The accident was one-sided; it couldn't slow down after hitting the bollards and entered the shop. Only the driver went to the hospital. His health condition is reportedly good."
