Verdict in the Palmiye Site case: 10 defendants sentenced to prison, 4 acquitted
The verdict has been delivered in the case regarding the collapse of Block A of the Palmiye Site in Malatya during the February 6, 2023 earthquakes. Out of 14 defendants, 10 were sentenced to prison, while 4 were acquitted.
The Malatya 3rd High Criminal Court has announced its verdict in the case concerning the collapse of Block A of the Palmiye Site following the earthquake that occurred on February 6.Thecourt announced the decision.
The court panel sentenced contractors H.C., M.G., and F.A.B. to 6 yearsand 8 months in prison, while R.Y., S.Ş., R.K., S.A., D.Ö., A.A., and A.Ö. were each sentenced to 4 yearsand 5 months and 10 daysin prison.prison sentencewas handed down. With theverdict, no judicial measureswere takenagainst the defendants who were being tried without arrest.The other defendants, B.Y., E.A., H.E., and Ü.E.,were acquitted.
In the second earthquake on February 6, in Yeşilyurt following the collapse of the Palmiye Site A Block in the Çilesiz neighborhood,5 people lost their lives and 1 person was injured.
