Vice President Yılmaz makes statement regarding Central Bank reserves
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made a statement on social media regarding the Central Bank's reserves.
Yılmaz made a statement regarding the Central Bank's reserves.
In his statement, Yılmaz noted the following:
"As our financial and macroeconomic stability strengthens, our reserves continue to increase. The Central Bank's gross reserves have risen to the level of 143.6 billion dollars, and net reserves excluding swaps have moved into positive territory for the first time in approximately 4 years.
With the acceleration of international capital inflows, the increase in our export revenues, and the decrease in domestic investors' demand for foreign currency, the Central Bank's reserve accumulation process has accelerated.
With increasing confidence, an improving risk premium, a narrowing current account deficit, and accelerating foreign capital inflows, our reserves, which we expect to increase even further in the coming period, will contribute to our economic stability and sustainable growth by accelerating the disinflation process."
