Vice President Yılmaz's statement on the 'Declaration of Intent'
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated, "Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, attended the 'Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace' held following the ceasefire in Gaza, held consultations with leaders, and signed the Declaration of Intent. With the signed Declaration of Intent, an important step has been taken toward lasting peace in the region."
In a post on his social media account, Vice President Yılmaz stated, "Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, attended the 'Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace' held following the ceasefire in Gaza, held consultations with leaders, and signed the Declaration of Intent. Pointing out that Turkey will continue to play an active role in the Palestinian cause, Yılmaz said, "This historic summit was realized as a result of the efforts of US President Trump, as well as regional ownership and the rising reaction of humanity. Despite all difficulties, the people of Gaza have maintained their dignity and will, and have not abandoned their homeland. Turkey will continue to take an active role in the Palestinian cause in the coming period with all its resources and our President's leader diplomacy."
Expressing his hope that the agreement will lead to lasting peace, Yılmaz said, "I hope that the agreement reached will contribute to the continuity of the ceasefire, the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid, the reconstruction of Gaza in accordance with the expectations of the Palestinian people, and pave the way for a two-state solution for lasting peace."
