Victims of the October 10 Ankara Train Station massacre commemorated on the ninth anniversary

At the commemoration held on the ninth anniversary of the Ankara Train Station massacre, families and relatives of those who lost their lives, along with lawyers for the October 10 case, emphasized that in the 9 years that have passed, the public officials responsible have not been put on trial and the political connections have not been uncovered.

Following a moment of silence at the site of the massacre, the names of the citizens who lost their lives were read out, and statements were made.

In the statement made in front of the station, it was said, "For 9 years, whichever door we knocked on, whatever demand we voiced, they turned a blind eye and a deaf ear. They share the blame for the blood of our friends; they are also guilty in the slaughter of our friends. They are at least as guilty as those ISIS killers. But let them know that we will never give up this struggle. We will drag the real killers out from behind the curtains where they are hiding."

Mehtap Sakinci Coşgun, the wife of lawyer Uygar Coşgun who lost his life in the attack and President of the October 10 Peace Association, read the press statement.

The statement said, "If the October 10 Ankara Massacre is not to be accepted as a crime against humanity, which case will be? We are waiting for the days when the dark sides of the massacre will come to light. Looking at the statements of the politicians of that period, it is clear that the October 10 Ankara Massacre is a political murder."

"THE GOVERNMENT IS AWARE OF ALL MASSACRES"

DEM Party MP Tülay Hatimoğulları made statements at the commemoration ceremony.

Key points from her remarks:

"This government, which became even more fascist after July 15, carried out the October 10 Station Massacre to protect its own power. The government was aware of all the massacres. We will not forget the lives we lost. Together with all democratic forces in Turkey, we will struggle to bring democracy with all opposition segments that say 'no' to this government. Let it be known that our struggle will continue until peace is won."

Labor Party (EMEP) Chairman Seyit Aslan stated, "Sooner or later, they will answer to our people for these massacres. In this country, as many people die in work-related murders every month as in the Ankara Massacre. Women and children are being slaughtered. We are living in a place that has practically become a country of massacres. We say it here again: you will definitely, absolutely pay for these massacres you have committed."
