Akbank customers had previously filed complaints in recent months, alleging that unauthorized access to their mobile banking accounts led to their money being transferred to third parties and various loans being taken out in their names, a topic that remained on the agenda for a long time.

Oğuzhan Kumsal, one of the Akbank victims who stated that loans were taken out from his account and money was transferred to other people, shared his experience during a live broadcast on EKOL TV.

Akbank victim Kumsal spoke as follows:

I have never shared my banking data with anyone; I am certain of this. I have never taken out a loan in my life. I have no assets or property in my name. Why would I take out a 400,000 TL loan on April 23, a public holiday?''

"In the lawsuit I filed, I submitted my salary slip; I am a person who earns 45,000 TL. While I earn such a salary, my first month's loan payment is 99,500 TL, and my subsequent monthly payments are 45,500 TL; this is a situation contrary to the normal flow of life...

Even if I had shared all my information with others, the bank should not have allowed such a thing. I signed a consent form before and after the incident for my WhatsApp conversations and voice recordings to be examined because I am certain that I did not share my private banking information with anyone. Because of this, I gave my consent, but the bank does not provide any information about how the incident occurred; they listen to us and say, 'The bank is not obligated to send a six-digit code; we provide it if we see it as suspicious.'

My question is this: I have never taken out a loan in my life, I have no assets or property in my name; why would I take out a 400,000 lira loan on April 23, a public holiday when everything is closed and I have no chance of acquiring property?

Over the course of two days, on April 23 and April 24, a total of 400,000 TL in loans was taken out from my account. Furthermore, 300,000 TL in my demand deposit account was liquidated, and a total of 700,000 TL was transferred to people I do not know in 7 separate installments of 100,000 TL each.

I had lowered my EFT and bank loan limits; on what basis did the bank increase these? I received no notification regarding this matter."
