Allegation of a $56 billion heist at EMRA! They said, 'Tayyip Bey is leaving'...

A highly controversial allegation has been made regarding the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

Appearing as a guest on Fatih Altaylı's YouTube channel, Prof. Dr. Uğur Emek claimed that individuals close to the AKP within EMRA orchestrated a multi-billion dollar heist in wind and solar energy tenders, anticipating that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan might lose the 2023 elections.

NO TENDER WAS HELD

Stating that EMRA allocated 30,000 megawatts of wind and solar energy licenses without a tender through a regulation change made at midnight on Friday, November 19, 2022, Prof. Dr. Emek noted that a “first-come, first-served with complete documentation” method was applied during this process.

Emphasizing that a very high price of approximately 6 cents per kilowatt-hour was given to the applicants, Emek explained the process as follows:

“A total of $129.6 billion will be paid over 30 years for the electricity to be produced under these licenses. However, the average tariff determined by EMRA this year, 18 months later, is 3.375 dollar cents. If this tariff had been applied, the state would have paid $56.7 billion less.”
