Barış Pehlivan reveals: Striking truth about Ramazan Gülten, who was arrested on bribery allegations

In the second wave of operations conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, 52 out of 53 individuals for whom detention warrants were issued were taken into custody. While 4 people were released under judicial control, 18 of the 48 individuals referred to the courthouse were arrested.

Ramazan Gülten, the Head of the İBB Zoning and Urban Planning Department, who was among those arrested, had given a statement at the Financial Crimes Investigation Branch regarding allegations of irregularities in advertising tenders.

The fact that has emerged regarding Gülten, who faces charges of establishing a criminal organization, bribery, bid rigging, extortion, and qualified fraud, has also increased the questions surrounding the investigation in the public eye.

Journalist Barış Pehlivan, in his speech on the YouTube channel Onlar TV, stated that after winning the election, İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made an offer to Ramazan Gülten, who was living in Bursa, and that after coming to Istanbul, Gülten was only able to afford a 2+1 apartment in Maltepe that does not get sunlight with his 15 years of savings.

Pehlivan's remarks are as follows:

"Ramazan Gülten, who is at the head of Istanbul's zoning, can only afford a 2+1 apartment on the ground floor in the hills of Maltepe that does not get sunlight by taking out a loan with his 15 years of savings."

HE WAS ATTACKED DURING THE DEMOLITION OF ILLEGAL STRUCTURES

Gülten was injured after being attacked during the demolition of illegal cafes on the Üsküdar coast in 2023. This incident had caused widespread repercussions in the public eye.
