The investigation launched into the murder of Bahar Aksu, who was killed by gunfire on May 5, is being deepened. Security camera footage regarding the ex-husband Rüstem E., his friend Samet S., and the individuals in the vehicle, Semih Y. and Aziz B., who were caught while fleeing after the murder and arrested at the courthouse after their procedures, has been examined.

In line with the suspects' statements, it was determined that Rüstem E., Semih Y., and Aziz B. came to Istanbul from Çanakkale on May 2, spent time in a vehicle near Bahar Aksu's workplace, stayed at a hotel in Şişli that same night, and returned to Çanakkale the next day.

THEY SLEPT AND WAITED IN THE CAR

It was determined that the suspects, having also taken the other suspect Samet S. with them, came to Istanbul again on the morning of May 4, positioned themselves near Aksu's workplace, spent time in the vicinity, and at night, slept in the vehicle they parked on the street where the incident occurred, waiting for Aksu.

It was determined that the ex-husband Rüstem E. and his friend Samet S. tried to force Bahar Aksu, whom they saw on the street around 07:00 on Monday, May 5, into the vehicle, and that Rüstem E. fled on foot after shooting the resisting woman with a handgun.

It was noted that while Rüstem E. was escaping to Muğla on a bus company's vehicle, the other 3 suspects were caught in Silivri while fleeing in the car they had come to Istanbul in.

Security camera footage of the hotel where the suspects stayed in Istanbul, where they had come for reconnaissance work on May 2, was obtained.

Footage of the suspects leaving the hotel around 07:53 on Saturday, May 3, was also recorded.

It also emerged that after committing the murder, the suspect Rüstem E. made a post on his social media account saying, "Revenge is my favorite emotion; revenge is delayed, not forgotten."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

On Cumhuriyet Neighborhood Kazım Orbay Street, Bahar Aksu was shot and killed with a gun while being forced into a vehicle to be kidnapped by her ex-husband Rüstem E. and his friend Samet S.

In addition to the fleeing Rüstem E. and Samet S., who was driving the vehicle in question, Semih Y. and Aziz B., who were with them, were caught and detained by police teams in Silivri.

In his statement at the police station, Semih Y. stated that they had come to Istanbul as 4 people in his vehicle for a trip, and that during this time, the suspect Rüstem E. told them he had some business and took them to the area where the incident occurred. Semih Y. stated that they waited there for a while, and after seeing Bahar Aksu, Rüstem E. and Samet S. got out of the vehicle, and after the woman resisted being forced into the vehicle, his friend shot her with a handgun and then fled the scene.

Police teams determined that Bahar Aksu and the suspect Rüstem E. were married in 2019 and divorced in 2022, that they had no children together, that in 2020 the victim had two separate application records against the suspect for the crimes of threats and intentional injury, and that there was no ongoing restraining order between them.

While Rüstem E.'s capture was recorded by another driver traveling in traffic with a mobile phone camera, the moment of the murder was also captured by the security camera of a nearby business.

The ex-husband Rüstem E. (37), his friend Samet S. (35), and those in the vehicle, Semih Y. (33) and Aziz B. (44), who were caught while fleeing after the murder and referred to the courthouse after their procedures, were arrested.
