CHP's Etimesgut candidate Erdal Beşikçioğlu mimics Erdoğan: 'I'm glad he said that'
CHP Etimesgut Mayoral Candidate Erdal Beşikçioğlu explained why he resigned from the state theaters by mimicking AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during a live broadcast.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Etimesgut Mayoral Candidate and actor Erdal Beşikçioğlu answered questions from Saygı Öztürk on Sözcü TV.
Beşikçioğlu, who is etched in memory for his role as Behzat Ç., explained why he resigned from the state theaters.
Mimicking AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the live broadcast, Beşikçioğlu said the following;
"Actually, I resigned from the state theaters because of the cause-and-effect relationship of the AKP government. I was on tour in Ordu, and there was a speech by Mr. Recep at the youth branch in Ordu; he said, 'Hey, these artists have gone too far, we pay their money, brother, they will do what we want,' whereas state theaters have their own special structure; regardless of which tendency they belong to, they must perform plays with that diversity. When it became clear that things wouldn't work out that way, we resigned and established the Tatbikat Stage. I'm glad we did. I'm glad he said that."
In the continuation of his speech, Erdal Beşikçioğlu responded to criticisms about being an outsider candidate by saying, "I do not accept that I am an outsider; I entered their homes every single day..."
