Controversial remarks by Merdan Yanardağ regarding Alevis! RTÜK Chair Ebubekir Şahin says 'Necessary action will be taken'

Condemning Yanardağ, Şahin used the following expressions in his statement:

"No statement that targets the unity and solidarity of society can be excused, regardless of the justification provided.

The phrase 'Alevis have many traitors,' uttered by Merdan Yanardağ on TELE 1, is hate speech that targets our Alevi citizens; it is divisive, offensive, and disrupts social peace.

As the Radio and Television Supreme Council, we condemn these ugly words in the strongest terms and inform the public that the necessary action will be taken immediately within the scope of Law No. 6112."
