Dog theft revealed as motive for murder at historic city walls

In the incident that took place on September 15 in the Topkapı neighborhood of Fatih, an eyewitness called the police to report a body on the historic city walls. Upon the notification, police and medical teams arrived at the scene. Initial examinations revealed that the unidentified person had been killed with a knife. The police took statements from 3 eyewitnesses, two of whom were women. Investigations identified the deceased as İhsan Çakmak.

DOG THEFT IS THE MOTIVE FOR MURDER

Studies conducted by the Public Security Branch Murder Bureau teams determined that the murdered İhsan Çakmak was homeless. The deepening investigation identified the suspect as Enes Y., who also slept in that area. It was revealed that the suspect, Enes Y., who was detained in an operation in Bayrampaşa, committed the murder. According to allegations, it was learned that an argument took place between İhsan Çakmak and the suspect Enes Y. over dog theft, and the murder was committed following this argument.

The suspect was sent to the courthouse by the Murder Bureau teams after the procedures were completed.
