Dragon spacecraft docking successfully completed
The SpaceX spacecraft carrying the first Turkish astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, has docked with the International Space Station.
Turkey's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı has successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Dragon spacecraft carrying the Axiom-3 (Ax-3) crew.
The Dragon capsule is carrying the multinational Ax-3 team, consisting of Turkish, Spanish-American, Italian, and Swedish members. The moment of docking was broadcast live on the Axiom Space website.
Following a space journey lasting approximately 36 hours, the Ax-3 team reached the ISS at around 05:42 local time in the US (13:42 Turkish time). Upon arriving at the ISS, the Ax-3 team will be welcomed by the astronauts and cosmonauts of Expedition 70, which began on September 27, 2023.
