Fairy chimney collapses in Cappadocia!
The moment a fairy chimney in Cappadocia began to collapse and rock fragments scattered around was captured by security cameras.
A collapse occurred during the night at a fairy chimney located in the Tekeli neighborhood of the Uçhisar town in Nevşehir.

Following the heavy rainfall last week, a portion of the fairy chimney, which is made of tuff rock and was covered in snow, collapsed as the snow melted. While rocks scattered around as a result of the collapse, there was no loss of life or property in the incident. The fairy chimney is located near a hotel in the town, and the collapse was captured by nearby security cameras.
Uçhisar Municipality teams carried out cleaning work by using construction machinery to remove the broken rock fragments.

No statement has been made yet by the Cappadocia Area Presidency regarding the matter.
Similar incidents involving the destruction and collapse of historical fairy chimneys have occurred in other areas of the region in the past.
