Governor reacts sharply to CHP members at March 18 ceremony! 'Are you a parallel state?'

The reaction of Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu toward the CHP marked the ceremonies held in Zonguldak for the 110th anniversary of the March 18 Martyrs' Commemoration Day and the Çanakkale Naval Victory.

During the ceremony held in front of the Zonguldak Governor's Office, Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument. After the ceremony, Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, who had retreated to his office, went out to the balcony and reacted to the CHP members upon hearing that a group of them was holding an 'alternative' commemoration ceremony in the ceremony area. Hacıbektaşoğlu, who appeared extremely angry, addressed the CHP members with the following words:

"Are you a parallel state? Do you have a parallel legal system? Do you have a second set of laws? Are you not ashamed? The ceremony was held here this morning. It is shameful, shameful, shameful. How can you justify this to yourselves! It is very shameful. You understand neither warnings, nor cautions, nor humanity."

Upon this, CHP Central District Head Osman Zaimoğlu replied to Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu, saying, "Mr. Governor, we do not want to be disrespectful to you." The CHP members who came to the ceremony also responded in unison, saying, "It is actually shameful for you."

"WHAT KIND OF RHETORIC IS THIS?"

Following Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu's reaction, a response also came from CHP Zonguldak Provincial Head Devrim Dural. Speaking to the Yerel Özgür Halkın Sesi newspaper, Devrim Dural stated that the ceremony was held with the permission of the Governor's Office and used the following expressions:

"We organized an alternative wreath-laying ceremony together with unions, the Kemalist Thought Association (ADD), and our parties for the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory. I heard a voice during the ceremony, but I couldn't make sense of it. When I turned and looked, the Governor was saying, 'Are you not ashamed?'"

Criticizing Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu's "parallel structure" rhetoric, Dural said, "What kind of rhetoric is this? We attended a ceremony permitted by the Governor's Office. We were commemorating the martyrs of Çanakkale. This tone of the Governor did not befit the seriousness of the state." Dural added that they would consult with the CHP Headquarters regarding the matter and provide an official response.
