The incident occurred around 03:30 on the night of January 31, 2024, in the Gaziemir district.

According to the information obtained, taxi driver Oğuz E. (44), who picked up a masked passenger from Göksu neighborhood in Buca district, started his vehicle upon the passenger's directions.

FIRED 3 SHOTS

After being driven around to wrong addresses for a while by the attacking passenger, taxi driver Oğuz E. stopped the vehicle, stating that they had arrived at the requested address. The attacker, who asked, "How much do we owe?", fired 3 consecutive shots with the gun he had on him while pretending to take money out of his pocket, after the driver replied, "221 liras, brother."

CAPTURED IN İZMİR

As a result of a joint operation by the İzmir Public Security Branch Robbery and Homicide Bureau, the suspect was identified after 110 hours of footage from approximately 70 security cameras were reviewed.

The attacker was captured on the same day with the gun he used and the items he robbed from the taxi driver.
