Horror at Çalık Holding! Former employee who could not receive his severance pay dies after being beaten
In Istanbul, Erol Eğrek, a former employee who went to the Çalık Holding building to collect his severance pay, was brutally beaten by security guards. Eğrek, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life.
49-year-old Erol Eğrek went to the Çalık Holding building on Büyükdere Avenue with his licensed firearm to demand the severance pay he claimed he had not received after being laid off.
During the incident on May 9, when his request to meet with company officials was denied, Eğrek fired three shots into a planter in front of the building.
Meanwhile, as security guards attempted to neutralize him, Eğrek held his gun to his own head.
Eğrek, who was beaten by security guards and bodyguards, was taken to Cemil Taşçıoğlu Hospital by police officers who arrived at the scene.
While being examined there, Eğrek complained of head and neck pain, but shortly after, his condition deteriorated and he was intubated.
Despite all interventions, Eğrek could not be saved and lost his life.
