IED and Molotov cocktail thrown at police vehicle in Bağcılar
An investigation has been launched to apprehend the suspects who fled after throwing an improvised explosive device (IED) and Molotov cocktails at a police vehicle in Bağcılar.
Police teams were dispatched to the area following a report that a group was walking on 1716 Street in the Demirkapı neighborhood carrying Molotov cocktails and IEDs.
The individuals in the group, who threw Molotov cocktails and an IED at the police vehicle, fled into side streets.
While the vehicle sustained minor damage, a specialized team was called to the scene for the unexploded IEDs.
Police efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects are ongoing.
