İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay asks MHP group about Öcalan: 'I stand behind my leader'

The CHP, which was heavily criticized by the AKP and MHP before the elections and accused of working with the PKK, emerged as the leading party in the local elections.

While these statements made in the squares before the election remain in the memories of citizens, a remarkable statement came from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

In his parliamentary group meeting, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who called on PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan, had invited Öcalan to speak in Parliament.

İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay directed the question, “Do you find it appropriate for Abdullah Öcalan to speak in Parliament?” to the MHP group in the council.

MHP Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Altınkeser gave the following response regarding the matter: “Yes, of course we find it appropriate. I stand behind my leader's words to the end.”
