'Kardak Commander' Ali Türkşen declared persona non grata in Greece: Entry denied
Retired Naval Staff Colonel Ali Türkşen announced on his social media account that he has been banned from entering Greece.
Ali Türkşen, who planted the Turkish flag on the rocks during the Kardak Crisis that escalated tensions between Turkey and Greece in 1996, and who began to be referred to as the 'Kardak Commander' after playing an active role as the team leader of the SAT commandos, made a notable statement on his social media account.
Retired Naval Staff Colonel Ali Türkşen, who stated that he had not experienced any problems entering or leaving Greece until now despite the crisis between the two countries, used the phrase 'I don't know what happened now' regarding the ban.
HERE ARE THOSE STATEMENTS BY ALİ TÜRKŞEN:
"I learned that I have been declared persona non grata in Greece.
I was not allowed to set foot on Greek territory anywhere. I had been able to enter Greece easily since 2002, but I don't know what happened now, but Greece has made such a decision.
There are United Nations laws on this matter.
I don't really care about entering Greece, but I am curious about what happened on this date.
