Kurdish message crisis on Habertürk: Orhan Miroğlu leaves the broadcast
The failure to broadcast Abdullah Öcalan's Kurdish message on a Habertürk program sparked controversy. During the ensuing tension, Orhan Miroğlu left the studio.
A crisis erupted on Habertürk's "Enine Boyuna" program, hosted by Hülya Hökenek, over the failure to broadcast a Kurdish message from Abdullah Öcalan. It was reported that the argument took place between AKP MKYK member Orhan Miroğlu and Habertürk columnist Nasuhi Güngör. Miroğlu left the program, stating, "Have some tolerance for this language."
Following the live broadcast, Orhan Miroğlu shared the following on social media:
''Some see peace as the victim carefully erasing their memory.
However, it is not possible to welcome peace by erasing memory and whispering in the dark.
My intention was not to hurt anyone, and it never has been. But I could not avoid leaving a record for history!''
WHAT HAPPENED?
It was announced that a DEM Party delegation met with PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan for the third time. During the meetings, Öcalan issued a call to the organization for the "PKK to dissolve itself."
The PKK terrorist organization, in a statement, had previously announced that they would not carry out attacks unless they were attacked themselves.
