Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the details of the "Mercek-8" operations on his X account.
Yerlikaya stated the following:
"In the 'MERCEK-8' operations held simultaneously over the last 3 days in 72 provinces against individuals carrying unlicensed weapons and weapon smugglers; a total of 1,335 weapons were seized, including 964 unlicensed pistols, 89 pistols converted from blank-firing guns, 30 long-barreled rifles, and 252 unlicensed hunting rifles. 1,558 suspects were detained."
